No leaseholder should have to pay the costs of making their homes safe and the Secretary of State’s threat to use the legal system to ensure developers meet their responsibilities to leaseholders is a positive step in the right direction. However, leaseholders are not the only innocent victims of the construction industry’s failure to build safe homes.
The LGA has announced the 30 successful projects, supporting 90 councils, for its Housing Advisers Programme, an innovative scheme to help councils overcome housing challenges in their local areas, address the housing crisis and meet the housing needs of local communities.

The LGA has commissioned Partnering Regeneration Development and Newbridge Advisors to produce this good practice guide. It aims to support councils to plan and establish more effective public-private partnerships, which can deliver the investment, development and services that are essential to boosting economic growth and recovery.
Health inequalities: Age and gender
Explore case studies from councils and how the pandemic has exacerbated the inequalities in different ways for older and younger people. This work informs part of the health inequalities hub, which is funded by UK Government.
